November 18, 1991
ARCO Station No. 2130, Stockton, California
additional vapor-extraction wells, if required. We propose the following tasks to conduct
a vapor-extraction test:
o Transport portable vapor-extraction equipment to the site.
o Operate the vapor-extraction system as required to obtain vapor samples,
- vacuum, and flow rate information.
o Collect vapor samples at the outlet of the vapor-extraction system.
o Submit vapor samples to a laboratory approved by ARCO for analysis of
TPHg and BTEX using above methods.
o Prepare a Problem Assessment Report (PAR) summarizing our findings,
conclusions, and recommendations based on previous and proposed work. If
hydrocarbons in soil or ground water are not delineated during this scope of
work, the PAR will be postponed until hydrocarbons are delineated.
o Prepare a report discussing the feasibility of using vapor extraction as a
remedial alternative. -t
i 1
The work will be performed in accordance with the Tri-Regional Board Staff
Recommendations for Preliminary Evaluation and Investigation of Underground Tank Sites i
(California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region, August 1990); `
Appendix A to that document (August 1991); and the Leaking Underground Fuel Tank
Manual (California Leaking Underground Fuel Tank Task Force, 1989). .'The Site F
R Mitigation Acknowledgement/Request For Services Form was included in our May 17,1991,
Work Plan. `
We recommend that a copy of this work plan addendum along with the drilling permit be
forwarded to Mr. Michael Infurna of the San Joaquin Public Health Services.
y
3oMAW 4
