Murray & Associa
i =
completed the necessary workplan and obtained the appropriate permits to install
'=` groundwater monitoring wells from the San Joaquin County Department of Hea.
Division of Environmental Health. The three monitoring wells were installed tc
' completed depth of 25 feet below ground surface. Well completion details and a litholc
' log of each of the soil borings were presented in the PAR.
Materials used for the construction of the groundwater monitoring well included 2-inch 1
interior/exterior flush threaded PVC Schedule 40 casing and well screen. Well scr+
perforations were precision machine slotted;screen slot sizes were 0.02 inches. Fifteep_f
of well screen was installed into each boring, followed by 10-feet of blank casing. A s;
M pack was placed so that it extends about 2 feet above the uppermost perforations.
well was then sealed with a 2 foot bentonite pellet plug and grouted to the surface v
a mixture of neat cement and 5 percent bentonite. Each well was completed nearly fl
with the surface and enclosed within a subsurface locking christy box. Each well was
x equipped with a locking pressure cap to avoid the possibility of vandalism. Failovs
completion of the wells the location and elevation of each well was surveyed relative tc
established benchmark. The elevation of the water le was subsequently determines
subtracting the depth to water from the elevation of the top of the casing. As a result
direction of groundwater movement and relative gradient has begin determined. Figur
shows the approximate elevation of the water table and the direction of groundw
movement.
r 7
i
