_ g
- _
.............................
ti.
MURRAY & ASSOCIATES
ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES
j.,
November 24, 1990
Lambert Barnum
P.O. Box 1071
San Andreas, CA 95249
Dear Mr. Barnum:
Re: Final Report - Stan Mori Ford Dealership, Tracy, California
This l-tter report summarizes our work for the source removal and sampling activities at
the subject site, and presents the results of all laboratory testing completed to date. The
purpose of this work was to implement our Final Remedial Plan (FRP) and to obtain
verification samples from the walls of the most recent excavation. Composite soil samples
were also collected from the stockpile of contaminated soil to evaluate disposal options.
FIELD ACTIVITIES AND OBSERVATIONS
Auger R2dn- s
To accomplish the tasks outlined in the FRP, five large diameter (10 and 30 inch) auger
borings were drilled to a depth of approximately 15 feet to remove the remaining waste
oil contaminated soil found adjacent to the service garage. A vicinity map showing the site
location is presented in Figure 1. A Site Plan showing auger hole locations relative to the
former underground waste oil tank is shown in Figure 2. All five of the auger borings
encountered contaminated soil at a depth of approximately 7 to 12 feet below the surface.
Barings red and Ante encountered the least amount of contaminated soil and actually
nd
intersected clean fill material from the former tank excavation. Borings a de
AH-3, however removed approximately 61 yd3 of c ntaminated sail from a depth of 7 to
nearly 12 feet below the surface.
The borings were drilled using a truck mounted hydrodigger equipped with 10 and 30-inch
diameter solid flyte augers. Holes AH-1, AH-2, and AH-3 were drilled using the 30-inch
diameter auger. Borings AH-4 and AH-5 were drilled at the intersections of AH-1 and
AH-3_, and AH-3 and AH-2 respectively with the 10-inch auger.
The drilling and soil removal activities were performed under the supervision of a -
California Registered Geologist who selected the boring locations and collected the
verification sail samples. Approximately 75 cubic yards of soil contaminated with primarily
oil and grease was removed for subsequent off-site disposal.
,
(916)635.0839 FAX(916)852-1411
;I' [ 2252 Fort Point Drive,Gold River,CA 95670
