1 <br /> � AMR <br /> February 14, 1992 <br /> ARCO Service Station No 2130, Stockton, California <br /> 1 <br /> near the site There are no municipal, domestic, or irrigation water wells within 500 feet <br /> of the site Data obtained from the California Department of Water Resources indicates <br /> water-supply wells are within 1/2 mile of the site The wells are listed in Table 1 and <br /> depicted on Plate 1 Some of the wells are probably inactive, and other wells may exist near <br /> the site but do not appear in the records <br /> SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION <br /> Details of the drilling operations, soil sampling, well construction and development, and <br /> water sampling are presented below Field work performed by RESNA on behalf of ARCO <br /> at the project site was conducted in accordance with RESNA's Work Plan (May 17, 1991), <br /> RESNA's Addendum to Work Plan (November 18, 1991), and Site Safety Plans No 30003- <br /> 1S (May 1, 1991) and 30003-4S (December-13, 1991) Our field methods and chain-of- <br /> custody protocol are described in Appendix A Copies of the Chain of Custody records and <br /> laboratory reports for soil and water samples are included in Appendix B <br /> Soil Borings and Soil Sampling <br /> In June 1991, RESNA observed Woodward Drilling of Rio Vista, California, drill one soil <br /> boring (131) near the fillport ends of the existing tank cavity to evaluate the soil for possible <br /> residual hydrocarbons Hydrocarbons were detected through soil sample field screening <br /> using a photoionization detector (PID), therefore, further drilling at the site was postponed <br /> until the site was added to the SJCPHS-EHD pilot program <br /> RESNA continued the subsurface investigation during December 1991 We observed <br /> Woodward Drilling drill four soil borings (B3, B4, B5, and B7) to approximately 65 feet <br /> below grade (approximately 1 foot below ground water) and three soil borings (B2, B6, and <br /> BS) to approximately 75 feet below grade The locations of the borings are shown on Plate <br /> 2 <br /> 3"3-aw 3 <br />
