Ml Date October 30,2003 Quarter. 3`d Quarter,2003 DISCUSSION: Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (total) (BTEX), and methyl tert-butyl ether (MtBE) were reported above method detection limits in groundwater samples collected from site wells this quarter Analyte concentrations were generally consistent with historic data with the following exceptions TPHg concentrations increased in VW-2 but remain within historic ranges Low level concentrations of MtBE were detected at wells VW-4, MS-113 and MS-2A this quarter for the first time since sampling began in December of 2002 In VW-8,TPHg,benzene,ethylbenzene,and xylenes concentrations increased but remain within historic ranges In VW-10, TPHg and BTEX concentrations decreased to the lowest levels reported relative to previous monitoring events Only very low level concentrations of MtBE were detected in MS-IA and MS-113 this quarter All other analytes were reported as below method detection limits Groundwater elevations generally increased relative to the previous sampling event The inferred direction of groundwater flow across the site was northeast to southeast with an average hydraulic gradient of 0 002 ft/ft This report is based on data, site conditions,and other information that are generally applicable as of the date of the report,and the conclusions and recommendations herein are therefore applicable only to that time frame TABLES Table I Groundwater Monitoring and Analytical Data Table 2 Fuel Oxygenates Analytical Data Table 3 Groundwater Gradient Data FIGURES Figure 1 Groundwater Elevation Contours Figure 2 Groundwater Analytical Summary APPENDICES Appendix A Field and Laboratory Procedures Appendix B Laboratory Analytical Reports,Cham-of-Custody Documentation,and Field Data Sheets Appendix C GeoTracker Upload Confirmation i i I • K NwprucessV5 BP ARC0502i301Quamerly\3 QTR 0312130 GWM.R 3Q03 doc Page 2
