Franklin High School
Installation of a monitoring well near bore hole B-1 and former 500 gallon underground storage
tank is approved.
Edison High School
i
Move one boring more towards the center of the former underground storage tank. Vertical depth
of soil contamination must be determined. This may required obtaining soil samples below a
groundwater.
SUSD Corporation Yard
Soil borings at the former underground diesel tank(T7) site, former underground gasoline tank
(Tank T1) site, and the slant soil borings at the remote fill trench site (Sample P17), be drilled to a
depth of 35 feet below ground surface(bgs) and 15 to 20 feet bgs, respectively, or until the
borings have extended below the area of soil contamination based on field observation, to define
the vertical extent of hydrocarbon contamination. If contamination extends beyond 35 feet below
grade, drilling must continue until the vertical extent is determined.
The depth of the lateral borings will be determined by the depth of the boring proposed by
samples 598 and 604 for the former diesel tank area and the boring proposed by sample 635 for
the former gasoline area.
The vertical extent must also be determined in the area of P17. Drilling deeper than 15 to 20 feet
below grade may be necessary. One of the slant probes should be changed to a vertical probe.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jeffrey Wong at(209) 468-0335.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
i
Jeffrey Wong , EHS, Trainee MargaretLagodo, REHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
JW.Ib
c: RWQCB, Central Valley Region - Pat Anderson
c: Noel Lerner, Helmick and Lerner
V
}
l
I
f
i
