Weber Street, Third Floor
Stockton, California 95202
. 1
Subject: Additional Analytical Reporting, for Stockton Unified School District
Corporation Yard, 1932 North El Pinal Drive, Stockton, California
i
Dear Mr. Wong: ;
ATC Associates Inc., on behalf of the Stockton Unified School District, has prepared this
correspondence in order to submit additional laboratory results associated with soil samples
collected at the site. On February 23, 1999 soil samples were colle3cted in the vicinity of the
project site's former diesel underground storage tanks. These samples were subsequently
submitted to Sequoia Analytical laboratory and analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as
diesel (TPHd), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) by EPA Methods
8015M18020. Field activities.and laboratory results are summarized in ATC's Summary Report
ofAdditional Subsurface Investigation (Summary Report) dated June 2, 1999.
Following a review of ATC's Summary Report, San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
'i Environmental Health Division recommended the soil samples collected from soil borings S133,
SB4, and SB5 be read and interpreted for the presence of methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE).
This recommendation was made in order to satisfy Health and Safety Code § 25299.37.1 +
requirements.
f At the request of ATC, Sequoia Analytical reviewed and interpreted chromatograms of the soil
samples collected from borings S133, SB4, and SBS for the presence of MTBE. Sequoia
Analytical concluded MTBE was not present in the soil samples above laboratory detection
limits.
Analytical results are summarized on Table 1 Revised laboratory data sheets are included as
Attachment 1.
l
