The Site is located at 21606 El Rancho Road, San Joaquin, California,
approximately one mile north of Banta, and directly south of and adjacent to Highway 205 (Figure
1 1). Mr. Richard Pellegri owns the Site.
1 On October 20, 2003, groundwater monitoring wells MW-2, MW-3, MW4, and MW-5 were
destroyed with a limited access track mounted hollow-stem auger drill rig operated by Gregg
Drilling and Testing, Inc. of Martinez, California. Monitoring well locations are shown on Figure 2.
1 A permit was obtained from the San Joaquin County PHS-EHD prior to well destruction. A copy of
the permit is included in Attachment A. Ms. Lori Duncan, a San Joaquin County PHS-EHD
representative, supervised the destruction activities.
1 Monitoring wells were approximately 14.5 feet deep and were constructed of a 2-inch diameter PVC
1 well casing and screen. Wells were destroyed by removing the well box, pulling the casing, drilling
out the well materials, and removing the cuttings from the 8-inch diameter borehole. Once the well
was drilled out to approximately 14.5 to 15 feet below ground surface, neat cement was added to the
1 borehole under the supervision of the San Joaquin County representative. The cement was brought
up to approximately 1 to 2 feet below grade, and the remainder of each borehole was backfilled with
native soil.
1
1 URS Corporation
2020 E.
