1 URS •
1
DEC 17 2003
1 ENVIRONMENT HEALTH
PERMIT/SERVICES
November 26, 2003
1
1 Ms. Sandra Glenn
Environmental Manager
1 MonierLifetile LLC
3511 North Riverside Avenue
Rialto, California 92377
1
1 Re: Summary of October 2003 Well Destruction Activities, Pellegri Farm, Tracy,
California
1 Dear Ms. Glenn:
On behalf of the MonierLifetile, LLC (MonierLifetile), URS Corporation (URS) has prepared this
1 letter report summarizing the groundwater monitoring well destruction activities conducted at
Pellegri Farm (Site). The Site is located at 21606 El Rancho Road, San Joaquin, California,
approximately one mile north of Banta, and directly south of and adjacent to Highway 205 (Figure
1 1). Mr. Richard Pellegri owns the Site.
1 On October 20, 2003, groundwater monitoring wells MW-2, MW-3, MW4, and MW-5 were
destroyed with a limited access track mounted hollow-stem auger drill rig operated by Gregg
Drilling and Testing, Inc. of Martinez, California. Monitoring well locations are shown on Figure 2.
1 A permit was obtained from the San Joaquin County PHS-EHD prior to well destruction. A copy of
the permit is included in Attachment A. Ms. Lori Duncan, a San Joaquin County PHS-EHD
representative, supervised the destruction activities.
1 Monitoring wells were approximately 14.5 feet deep and were constructed of a 2-inch diameter PVC
1 well casing and screen. Wells were destroyed by removing the well box, pulling the casing, drilling
out the well materials, and removing the cuttings from the 8-inch diameter borehole. Once the well
was drilled out to approximately 14.5 to 15 feet below ground surface, neat cement was added to the
1 borehole under the supervision of the San Joaquin County representative. The cement was brought
up to approximately 1 to 2 feet below grade, and the remainder of each borehole was backfilled with
native soil.
1
1 URS Corporation
2020 E.
