_ INTERIM WORK PLAN
FOR MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION
Elkhorn Country Club
1050 Elkhorn Drive
Stockton, California
February 1995
1.0 INTRODUCTION
In accordance with a request from Mr. Bob Young of Elkhorn Country Club, Geological
Audit Services, Inc. (GeoAudit) has prepared this Interim Work Plan for the installation of
two groundwater monitoring wells at 1050 Elkhorn Drive in Stockton, California (the site).
The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1. A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure
2
2.0 BACKGROUND
2.1 Site Location
Elkhorn Country Club is located in a flat rural/residential area north of Stockton, in San
Joaquin County, California (Figure 1). The area of investigation is located east of the Pro
Shop, immediately adjacent to the maintenance building (Figure 2).
2.2 Underground Storage Tank Removal
It is our understanding that one 1,000-gallon underground storage tank (UST) was removed
_ from the site in 1991. Two soil samples were collected from beneath.the tank at depths of
10 and 10.5 feet. The samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH as
gasoline), volatile aromatics (BTE&X), total lead and ethylene dibromide (EDB). Only
BTE&X and TPH as gasoline was detected in the soil samples.
23 Monitoring Well Installation
On June 20, 1994, one soil boring was drilled at the site. Because TPH as gasoline and
BTE&X were detected in the soil samples at depths between 25 and 35 feet, three
monitoring wells were installed.
On August 30, 1994, three soil borings were drilled and completed as two-inch monitoring
wells. No petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in MW-1. However, concentrations of
toluene and xylene were detected in MW-2 and TPH as gasoline and BTE&X were detected
1
