1 I
J1
l INDUSTRIES, INC.
THE
FIRECAT 250 DIRECT FIRED
THERMAL OXIDIZER
WITH CAT MODULE
The F/RECA1 250 is a new thermal oxidizer on the market and utilizes some
unique features to process VOCs. A list of features and their functions are:
1 : VOC DILUTION CONTROL - A PID Controller modulates a mechanical
valve to control the influent vapors at a pre-set level. ACCURACY (+ or -
1 % of the lower explosive level). The maximum LEL percentage the oxidizer
can process at a 99.9% destruction rate is 60% LEL or 8280 ppmv. The LEL
level is monitored by a MSA Combustables Catalytic Bead Sensor and
Transmitter which supplies a signal to the PID Controller. If the LEL% rises
above a pre-set level it will close off the wells and open a purge valve.
2: OXYGEN LEVET. MONITORING - A FID Controller monitors the oxygen
level to insure the oxygen level is sufficient to combust all vapors and
supplemental fuel that is introduced to the oxidizer. The controller receives a
signal from a MSA oxygen sensor and transmitter, Oxygen Level Required
17% +). If the oxygen level drops below 17% the wells will be closed and
a purge valve will open.
3:TENIPERATURE CONTROL - A PID Controller modulates a mechanical
valve on the supplemental fuel line to control the oxidizer temperature at
1400 Degree Fahrenheit with an accuracy of ( + or - 5 degrees). The
controller receives a signal from a type K thermocouple in the oxidizer stack.
VOC's will not be introduced until the oxidizer has reached the pre-set 1400
Degree temperature. When the system is converted to "CATALYTIC" the
Temperature Controller receives a signal from the influent side of the
catalytic module and maintains a 650 Degree temperature. Exhaust
temperature will range from 1150 - 1250 Degrees.
4: HIGH LIMIT CONTROLLER - A PID Controller monitors the temperature of
the oxidizer to insure that it stays within the safe operating perimeters of
the system. If the temperature rises above a pre-set level the oxidizer shuts
off the system until it is manually reset. When the system is converted to
"CATALYTIC" the High Limit controller has a lower setpoint.
3530 E.
