n \
11
INDUSTRIES, INC.
THE FIRECAT 250 DIRECT FIRED THERMAL
OXIDIZER WITH CAT MODULE
SUMMARY OF OPERATION
The FIRECAT 250 Will process hydrocarbons in the
following manner:
The Firecat oxidizer pulls a suction from a dilution port to supply ambient air
to begin combustion. All air shall pass through the burner and the dilution
valve stays open until the oxidizer reaches 1400 Degrees for Direct Fired or
650 Degrees for Catalytic operation. Once the oxidizer reaches the minimum
frf temperature the oxidizer begins opening the mechanical well isolation valve
to allow the hydrocarbons to pass through the preheated oxidizer. If the
temperature drops below the pre-set level the isolation valve will close and
purge the system by opening the dilution valve.
The vapor extraction is performed by a vacuum pump that pulls in all air
through a knockout pot to separate a majority of the moisture. The air then
passes through an ORIFICE PLATE that measures the differential pressure,
this sends the DP to a transmitter which is calibrated to the correct range for
the system. The transmitter then sends a signal to a stripchart recorder to
record the total flow through the oxidizer. The vapor then passes through a
flame arrestor and then to the burner where it has a self sustained pilot
system to insure proper ignition of all gasses.
The burner is a 104MVTA Eclipse burner and the pilot is an Eclipse NNIPS
type. The pilot is supplied at all times with a separate ambient air blower to
give it a proper fuel to air ratio. The pilot is electronically ignited and is
monitored by a flame safety inside of the control panel. If flame response is
lost the oxidizer will shut down until it is manually reset. The vapors are
mixed in a combustion chamber which contains the burner, the chamber and
the THROAT area.
3530 E.
