INTRODUCTION
S In accordance with a request from Mr. Bob Young of Elkhorn Country Club, 'ldvanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this Quarterly Report for field activities performed
during the third quarter of 1996 at 1050 Elkhorn Drive, Stockton, California (the site). The scope
of work included monitoring, purging and sampling of each of the six monitoring wells on the site.
The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1 -Localion Map. The layout of the site is depicted
' in Figure 2 -Site Plan.
C-7-
The monitoring and.sampling were perforn.ed in accordance with guidelines established by the Tri-
Regional Board and San Joaquin County Public Health Department Environmental Health Division
(PHS-EHD) for investigation of underground storage tank sites. Site history and findings from
previous investigations and monitoring events at the site are detailed in the Corrective Action Plan
(CAP) and previous Quarterly Reports prepared by AGE.
2.0. PROCEDURES
- 2.1. MONITORING WELL PURGING
On 09 August 1996, the water level in each well (MW-1 through MW-6) was.measured relative to
the top of its well casing using a Solinst water level meter (Table 1). After water levels were
measured, approximately 6 gallons of water(a minimum of three well volumes)were removed from
each well using a PVC bailer.Temperature and conductivitywere measured at one-gallon intervals
- using an ICM model 52200 water analyzer. Stabilization data and field logs are included in
Appendix A. Purged water was stored on-site in 55-gallon drums.
2.2. SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
Water samples were collected from each well using new disposable plastic bailers and transferring
the collected water into 40-m1 EPA vials. The samples were labeled, logged on a chain-of-custody
!..1 form, placed in a chilled container and transported to McCampbell Analytical Inc. (MAI)in Pacheco,
California. Each sample was analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline
j (TPH-g),volatile aromatics(benzene,toluene,ethyl benzene and xylenes: BTE&X)and methyl-tert-
butyl ether(MTBE) in accordance with EPA methods 5030/8015m and 602.
