=.1 concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in MW-2. However, TPH as
gasoline and BTE&X were also detected in the sample from MW-3, apparently up-gradient
of the former UST excavation.
Although TPH as gasoline was detected in the water sample from MW-1, approximately 60
feet northeast of the former UST tank excavation, the chromatograms indicate that the
detected hydrocarbons do not fit typical gasoline-range compounds (possibly diesel).
Therefore, the source of the impacted groundwater in the area of MW-1 is uncertain at this
time.
The lateral extent of impacted groundwater at the site has not been determined. Therefore,
GeoAudit recommends the installation of two additional groundwater monitoring wells at
the site. The wells should be located east and southeast of the former UST excavation.
6.0 LIMITATIONS
Our. professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily
exercised by environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. Evaluations of
the geologic/hydrogeologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are
made from a limited number of available data points (i.e. monitoring wells, soil samples)
and subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points.
