Quarterly Monitoring Report Second Quarter 2001
ELKHORN COUNTRY CLUB
1050 Elkhorn Drive, Stockton, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. Bob. Young of Elkhorn Country Club and to comply with closure criteria of
<' the San. Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD), as
verbally directed by Ms. Margaret Lagorio of the PHS-EHD, Advanced GeoEnvironniental, Inc.
(AGE)has prepared this quarterly report of field activities performed during the second quarter of
2001 for post-remedial monitoring at 1050 Elkhom Drive, Stockton, California (the site).
The scope of work included monitoring of a soil vapor extraction rebound test, collection of a soil
vapor sample and conducting quarterly monitoring of nine ground water wells (six monitoring and
three air-sparging wells):
The site and its surroundings are illustrated in Figure d. Structures and ground water monitoring well
locations on the site are depicted in Figure 2. Site history and findings from previous investigations
1 and monitoring events at the site are detailed in Corrective Action Plan -27 June 1996 (CAP) and
in Quarterly Report--December 1996,dated 28 February 1997,prepared by AGE. Historical ground
:..) water monitoring results are included in tables of this report
CORRECTIVE ACTION-SVE AND IAS OPERATION
In June 1996, a Corrective Action Plan (CAP)was submitted to the PHS-EHD. Recommendations
{ in the CAP included installation of a soil vapor extraction(SVE) system to remediate hydrocarbon-
impacted soil and an in-situ air sparging (IAS) system to remediate hydrocarbon-impacted ground
water.
1
• On 30 and 31 July 1998, six remediation wells were installed on the site, two soil vapor
extraction wells and four in-situ air sparging wells, in preparation for corrective action.
During July through September 1999, the remediation piping network and remediation
,equipment were installed and start-up procedures were conducted.
• On 23 August 1999, initiation of an IAS ground water, remediation program,in combination
with SVE remediation began. An.internal coriibustion-catalytic converted (IC) soil-vapor.
extraction SVE unit, with a removal capacity of 100 cubic feet per minute (cfm), operated
at the site until 14 September 2000. The IC unit was replaced with an active vacuum blower,
= discharging the hydrocarbon emissions without treatment at approximately 20 efin. The soil-
vapor concentration of hydrocarbon had declined to concentrations that would not require
1 a destruction process for the recovered vapor stream according to the permit to.operate the
SVE.
Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc.
h
