GROUND WATER MONITORING REPORT
JUNE 1998
_ Lodi Police Department
221 West Pine Street, Lodi, California
_
1.0. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK
In accordance with the request of Mr. Dennis Callahan of the City of Lodi, Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE)has prepared this report for ground water monitoring performed at
221 West Pine Street, Lodi, California. The site location is illustrated on Figure 1. Structure and
monitoring well locations are illustrated on Figure 2 -Site Plan. An active 18,400-gallon gasoline
underground storage tank(UST)is located on the subject property. Site background was summarized
in the Soil and Ground Water Investigation report prepared by J.H. Kleinfelder.
Field work was performed in accordance with Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
(CVRWQCB) and San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division
(PHS-EHD) guidelines for the investigation of UST sites.
2.0. PROCEDURES
2.1. MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
On 17 June 1998,a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in MW-
I and MW-2 relative to the top of the well casing. After measuring ground water depths, dedicated
bailers were used to remove approximately 3 and 8 gallons of water from MW-1 and MW-2,
respectively. Temperature,pH and conductivity of purged water were measured at regular intervals
during purging using an ICM model 52200 water analyzer. Monitoring well stabilization data and
field sheets are included in Appendix A. Purged water was stored on-site in a 55-gallon DOT drum
pending laboratory analysis.
2.2. COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Water samples were collected from each well using new disposable bailers. At the request of the
PHS-EHD, a water sample was also collected from a domestic well located at the site. Each sample
was transferred into three 40-m1 EPA-approved VOA vials containing 0.5 ml of 18% hydrochloric
acid as a preservative. The samples were labeled, placed in a chilled container and transported to
McCampbell Analytical, Inc. (MAI) in Pacheco. The samples were analyzed for:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Method 5030/8015m
..
Advanced GeoEnvironmen[al,Inc.
