This letter states
that the SWRCB may implement the recommendations from the LLNL study and the SB 1764
committee through revisions to resolution 9249 "Policies and Procedures for Investigation and
Cleanup and Abatement of Discharges under water code section 13304", in 1996.
Until resolution 9249 is modified, the SWRCB is requesting that local implementing agencies close low
risk soil sites and monitor low risk groundwater sites. PHS/EHD considers this site to be a low risk .
groundwater site, and during this interim period, will allow monitoring without requiring additional
characterization or remediation.
PHS/EHD recommends that the interim monitoring schedule include quarterly groundwater elevation
measurements of all monitoring wells and quarterly analyses of monitoring wells 6, 7 and 8 for
petroleum hydrocarbons.
Please contact Steven Sasson if you have any questions at (209) 468-3459.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Jv 4en Margaret Lagorio, REHS
Site Mitigation Unit Lead Senior
SS
cc: Elizabeth Thayer - CVRWQCB
cc: Annabel Mackey - SWRCB
cc: Dayne Frary -W.W.
