Claimant:
Pegasus Group, Inc., Dwight Davis, President. UST Cleanup Fund Claim No. 06962.
Site Work Completed
Village West Marina is a condominium complex and small craft marina property which
includes the containment levee on the east side of Fourteen-Mile Slough in west
Stockton. Two 10K gasoline USTs (T-1 & T-2) and one 5K diesel UST (T-3) were
removed from the property by Evax Technologies, Inc. on April 21, 1992. Soil samples
collected from beneath the ends of gasoline UST T-1 indicated the following analytical
results in mg/Kg:
• TPH-g 600, 1200
• Benzene 7.5, 11
• Toluene 63, 18
• Ethylbenzene 7.7, 17
• Xylenes 48, 170
Based on these data, further work including piping removal was directed by the
SJCEHD. Samples were not collected from beneath gasoline UST T-2 or diesel UST T-
3 because the tank inverts were in contact with groundwater. Diesel UST T-3
apparently did not leak, as no significant TEH-d was ever subsequently detected.
W.W. Irwin, Inc., retained by Mr. Dwight Davis in 1993, drilled hydropunches and
ultimately completed five monitoring wells which are depicted on the Site Plan, Figure 2.
Hydropunch sampling (HP-1 through HP-3) on April 8, 1994 yielded a groundwater
sample from HP-3 containing 160 gg/L of benzene. Complying with a directive of the
SJCEHS, W.W. Irwin, Inc. completed monitoring wells MW-4, MW-5, and MW-6 on
June 6, 1994. Wells MW-7 and MW-8 were selected for completion following additional
hydropunch sampling of HP-7 through HP-10 on July 3, 1995. The well numbers for
MW-4, MW-5, and MW-6 were selected so as not to confuse data initially obtained from
hydropunches HP-1, HP-2, and HP-3. MW-7 and MW-8 were initially drilled as
:` :. hydropunches HP-7 and HP-8, then were completed as unimpacted definition wells.
