Problem Assessment, Remedial Action Plan, and Continued Monitoring <br /> On July 3, 1995, W.W. Irwin, Inc. directed the drilling, logging, and sampling of <br /> HydropunchesTm HP-7, HP-8, HP-9, and HP-10. HP-7 and HP-8 were completed as <br /> monitoring wells MW-7 and MW-8. <br /> Following completion of all tasks, the Problem Assessment Report and Project Status <br /> Report of Ground-Water Monitoring were issued by W.W. Irwin, Inc. on August 8, <br /> 1995. Monitoring activities conducted on October 18, 1995 were documented in the <br /> Project Status Report dated October 31, 1995. The Remedial Action Plan with <br /> feasibility study were issued on December 28, 1995; W.W. Irwin, Inc. had <br /> recommended bioventing with continued groundwater monitoring as the best, cost- <br /> effective technologies for cleanup of affected soil and groundwater. <br /> Groundwater monitoring was conducted for the first quarter of 1996 on January 16; the <br /> ' Project Status Report for that activity was issued on February 7, 1996. Groundwater <br /> monitoring was conducted for the second quarter of 1996 on March 18. In an <br /> j additional analysis, MTBE was not detected in the sample collected from MW-1. The <br /> Proiect Status Report for that activity, the last issued by W.W. Irwin, Inc., was issued <br /> on April 4, 1996_ <br /> ` Horizon Environmental Inc. replaced W.W. Irwin, Inc. as the consultant-of-record in <br /> June 1996. Horizon conducted groundwater monitoring activities for the third quarter <br /> of the year on July 11; the Proiect Status Report was issued for the activity on July 23, <br /> 1996. Horizon later conducted groundwater monitoring activities for the fourth quarter <br /> of the year on October 29; the Proiect Status Report was issued for the activity on <br /> } November 14, 1996. <br /> Dayne L. Frary, California Registered Geologist No. 4456, has managed the project <br /> since the spring of 1994 for both W.W. Irwin Inc. and Horizon. Mr. Fra as an <br /> P 9 ry, <br /> independent consultant, assumed responsibility for project management with Mr. <br /> Davis' permission in December 1996. <br /> .:_.� GROUNDWATER MONITORING: JANUARY 22, 1997 <br /> Sounding and Sampling <br /> Monitoring wells MW-4, MW-5, MW-6, MW-7, and MW-8 were sounded by Mr. Don <br /> Light of Del-Tech Geotechnical Support Services on January 22, 1997 utilizing a <br /> KeckT"' interface meter.
