r
SUMMARY
On October 29, 1996, groundwater was sounded at an average depth of 15.14 feet below the tops
of the well casings(see Table 2). The average depth-to-water in the wells has risen 0.63-foot in the
31---month period since July 11 when the average depth-to-water was 15.77 feet. The local
groundwater flow direction on October 29 was S90°E (due east) along a gradient of 0.012.
Between July 11 and October 29, the flow direction has remained unchanged.
i The sample collected from monitoring well MW-6 exhibited 1210 µg11 of TPH-g and 87 µg/1 of
benzene. TPH-g has increased 26% since the monitoring activity of July 11, but benzene
concentrations have declined 20.9% since that date. Although TPH-g has increased slightly, the
overall trend of declining TPH-g concentrations identified in July 1995 has continued. Benzene
also continued to decline; only benzene exceeds the MCL assigned by the California Department
of Health Services. TPH-g and BTEX were not detected in samples collected from monitoring
f wells MW-7 and MW-8. Sampling was not required for monitoring wells MW4 and MW-5.
The groundwater monitoring activity for the first quarter of 1997 is scheduled for mid-January.
As a courtesy,Horizon will forward two copies of this report to:
Mr. Steve Sasson
San Joaquin County Puhlic Health Services
Environmental Health Division
P.O.Box 388
Stockton, California 95201-0388
7
2005-41.496 5 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC.
c !
