x Quarterly Report - Third Quarter 2002
ENTERPRISE INVESTMENTS (Former J.B. Murphy Trucking)
355 Enterprise Place, Tracy, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. Monty Warren-of Enterprise Investments,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
(AGE) has prepared this quarterly report for 355 Enterprise Place, Tracy, California. The site and
the surrounding area are illustrated on Figure 1. Structures, boring and well locations are illustrated
{ on Figure 2. Background information is summarized in the AGE-prepared Monitoring,Well
Installation Work Plan -November 2000, dated 27 November 2000.
2.0. PROCEDURES
Five ground water monitoring wells (MW1 through MW5) and one ground water extraction well
(EW 1)were monitored and sampled on 13 August 2002. Field work was performed in accordance
with guidelines issued by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)
for the investigation of underground storage tanks (UST) sites.
2.1. WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
A Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in the wells relative to
the tops of the well casings. The ground water elevations and gradient were determined from these
data(Table 1.).
After recording water level measurements, disposable plastic bailers were used to purge wells MW l,
`A MW3,MW4 and MW5 of standing water and a two-stage submersible pump was used to purge wells
MW2 and EW 1 of standing water. Approximately 5.0 gallons of water (a minimum of 3 casing
1- ! water-volumes per well) were removed from MW 1, MW3, MW4 and MW5; approximately 12.5
gallons of water were removed from MW2; and approximately 56 gallons of water were removed
from EW L Ground water temperature, pH and conductivity were measured at regular intervals
during-purging using an Oakton water analyzer.Purged ground water was containerized in properly
labeled DOT-approved model 17H 5 5-gallon drums and was stored on-site.Field sheets and data are
included in Appendix A.
2.2. COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Water samples were collected from the purged wells using new disposable plastic bailers after
allowing the wells to achieve a minimum 80%recovery of the pre-purge water volume. Each water
sample was.transferred into three 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0.5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a
s sample preservative and into one 1-liter amber bottle without sample preservative. After collection,
i
Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc.
j
