29 January 2003
AGE-NC Project No. 97-0360
in the groundwater sample collected from well EW 1 at a concentration of 2.8 Vg/l.No other analytes
were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the ground water samples.
The analytical results of ground water samples are summarized on Table 2. The laboratory report
(CTEL Project No. CT214-0208059), QA/QC report and chain-of-custody form are included in
Appendix B.
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected from the site,AGE concludes:
• Ground water flow at the site on 13 August 2002 was inferred to be toward the north at a
gradient of 0.002 feet/feet.
• TPH- was detected in the ground water samples collected from wells MW 1 and EW 1 at
,,-• g P
concentrations of 170µg/1 and 290µg/l,respectively,and TPH-d was detected in the ground
water sample collected from well EWl at a concentration of 2.8%g/l. No other target 1I)q--
analytes were detected, in the present samples as well as samples collected from the two '- 17103
previous quarterly monitoring events (Table 2).
• With the exception of TPH-d,the lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted ground
` water has been defined in all directions. TPH-d is not defined east of the former UST area.
i
• The vertical extent has been defined; petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted ground water does
not extend below 35 feet bsg. A map illustrating the approximate extent of dissolved TPH-g
is presented in Figure 4.
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of the environmental activities recounted in this report, AGE recommends
continued quarterly ground water monitoring;the next monitoring event was performed inNovember
2002. If concentrations of TPH-g remain stable in the samples collected in November, AGE
recommends the site be considered for closure and a closure summary report be prepared.
6.0.
