`* Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br /> J.B. Murphy Trucking <br /> �. 355 Enterprise Place, Tracy, California <br /> 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with the request of Mr. Monty Warren of J.B. Murphy Trucking, Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental,Inc. (AGE)has prepared this Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br /> (PIER) for 355 Enterprise Place (the site), Tracy, California. The scope of work included <br /> advancement of eight soil probe borings and collection and analysis of soil and ground water <br /> samples. The location of the site and its surroundings are illustrated on Figure 1; major features on <br /> the site and soil probe boring locations are illustrated on Figure 2. <br /> L. This investigation was performed in accordance with guidelines of the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS=EHD) and of the Central Valley Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board for the investigation of underground storage tank(UST) sites. <br /> .. <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> 16. <br /> In August 1997, one 10,000-gallon diesel UST was removed from the site by Stockton Service <br /> Station,Inc. Based on field observations and analytical results of soil samples collected during the <br /> `''� tank removal, the PHS-EHD directed that a subsurface investigation be performed at the site to <br /> delineate the vertical and horizontal extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soil. In accordance <br /> with PHS-EHD directives, procedures for a subsurface investigation were presented in the AGE- <br /> prepared Site Assessment Work Plan, dated 07 April 2000 and were approved by the PHS-EHD by <br /> letter dated 18 April 2000,and AGE-prepared SiteAssessment Work Plan Addendum,dated 20 June <br /> 2000 and approved by the PHS-EHD by letter dated 29 June 2000. <br /> 2.1. SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION <br /> The site is located in a commercial/industrial area of north Tracy, California, at an estimated <br /> .r elevation of 5 feet above mean sea level. The site is presently occupied by Jimco Construction and <br /> Rerailing. <br /> •• The site is located on the north side of Enterprise Place. The major portion of the site consists of an <br /> unpaved dirt area used as a parking lot for trucks (Figure 2). A two-story office facility and truck <br /> garage are presently located on the site. <br /> 2.2. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> �..
