KLE/NFELDER <br /> �&yMheple.I119hf 5olurMnc <br /> 2. SITE SETTING <br /> ' 2.1 SITE LOCATION <br /> The CNP plant is located at 1250 East Lathrop Road in Lathrop, California (Plate 1). The <br /> ' property is located approximately two miles east of the San Joaquin River, and <br /> immediately east of the Southern Pacific Railroad. California Natural Products is bordered <br /> to the north by Lathrop Road beyond which is Sharpe Army Depot (Sharpe). CNP is <br /> ' bordered to the west by railroad tracks, beyond which is commercial and residential <br /> property. The properties to the south are industrial properties. CNP is bordered on the <br /> ' east by McKinley Avenue, beyond which is industrial and residential property. <br /> The "Rapid Infiltration Area" for CNP wastewater discharge is located south of the plant <br /> on McKinley Avenue. There are three monitoring wells (W-1, W-4, and W-5) associated <br /> ' with this area. Three monitoring wells (L-1 , L-2, and L-3) were installed in the South <br /> Louise Avenue Infiltration area in June 2001. In March 2003, the South Louise Avenue <br /> Infiltration Area began receiving wastewater. In April 2004, three additional monitoring <br /> wells (L-4, L-5, and L-6) were installed in the North Louise Avenue Infiltration Area <br /> (Plate 2). Discharge of wastewater began in the North Louise Avenue Infiltration Area <br /> in May 2004. <br /> ' According to the 1987 photorevised U.S. Geologic Service 7.5-Minute Topographic Map, <br /> the California Natural Products Plant and Rapid Infiltration sites are located in the Eastern <br /> ' Y2 of the NE Y4 of Section 26 of Township 1 South Range 6 East of the Mount Diablo <br /> Base Line & Meridian (MDBL&M). The elevation of the property is shown to be <br /> approximately 15 to 20 feet above mean sea level (msl). The Louise Avenue Infiltration <br /> Area is located in the Eastern Y2 of the Southwest Y4 of Section 25 of Township 1 South <br /> Range 6 East of the MDBL&M. The elevation of the property is shown to be <br /> ' approximately 20 to 25 feet above msl. <br /> 2.2 SITE OPERATIONS <br /> ' CNP is currently an operating food processing plant with associated storage, offices, <br /> parking, and landscaping.
