ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS
Liquid Waste Discharged to Land - The total areal size is 14 acres .
Aggrfcultura crops us ng_Tr_r_fg_at ion water exists on 10 acres . The
soil profile is extra sandy loam and the percolation rate is high.
Ground water quality is potable. The annual rainfall is 15" with a
wind direction from the Northwest . The frequency of flooding is zero .
The agricultural wastes being added to the irrigation water are rice
fiber and possibly some residual rice proteins . A boiler exists on
site so that ppm of boiler chemicals used in the maintainance of the
boiler as well as boiler blow down is also added to this agricultural
water. Water from washing out the processing tanks also goes into this
irrigation water, however only recirculated boiling water is used to
wash out the tanks with no added soaps or detergents.
Solid Waste Disposal - The discard from the rice syrup manufacture
Fs rTcee`Tb—er w ch is not really a solid waste but a valuable food
source. Currently it is fed as is to pigs. The pig-keepers telephone
number is (209)982-1251. In the very near future this fiber will be
roasted and dried at this fascility and sold as is in the natural
foods industry as a dietary fiber.
Pond Disposal - The capacity of the natural drainage pond is 565,000
ga=ons. a permeability is high since it has a sandy loam base. The
pond has a 15,000 square foot evaporation surface. Water washings and
slight peelings from the dahlia tubers is all that goes into this
drainage pond. Dahlia processing runs from November through March.
Field irrigation run-off also runs into this drainage pond .
Reclaimed Water Use - None
