The second addendum was prepared in response to a
2 October 2002 Regional Water Board Conditional Approval of Kleinfelder's 20 September 2002
Addendum Letter. The original workplan was prepared in response to Waste Discharge Requirements
Order No. R5-2002-0071, Provision G.2.b, which required submittal of the groundwater workplan.
The second addendum is acceptable. California Natural Products shall install the additional well by
26 December 2002 and by 24 February 2003 the groundwater monitoring well installation report shall be
submitted. However, despite the delays in approving the workplan, the understanding of the groundwater
hydrogeology in the area has not improved, and if the proposed well location is not upgradient of the land
application areas, then additional well(s) may be required.
If you have any questions on this conditional approval, please telephone me at(916) 255-3116.
T MOTHRIEN
Waste Discharge to Land Unit
San Joaquin River Watershed
cc: Mr. Mike Huggins, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department, Stockton
Robert Martin, Kleinfelder, Stockton
California Environmental Protection Agency
ed Reeyeledpnper
The energy challenge facing California is real.
