Testing of secondary piping is part of the
Underground Tank System and must be tested. If this piping cannot be tested it must be
replaced by December 31, 2002, CCR Title 23 Section 2637(a)(1), or the system taken
out of service and placed in temporary closure under permit until the system can be
replaced under a retrofit repair or installation permit issued by the Environmental Health
Department (EHD). Note that, if needed, expedited permits can be obtained at an
addition cost.
If Southland Corporation/ 7 -Eleven is aware of any piping systems that are leaking, these
systems do not meet the requirements of CCR Title 23 Section 2712 and California
Health and Safety Code Sections25299 (b)(4) and must be taken out of service until these
systems meet all code requirements.
If you have any further questions regarding this issue, please contact me at (209) 468-
3446.
Environmental Health Department
- V
Doug ilson, Supervising REHS
Cc: David Irey, Deputy DA
