�30 <br /> FLUOR DANIEL GTI <br /> October 16, 1996 <br /> Mr. Bob DeNinno <br /> The Southland Corporation <br /> 19033 West Valley Highway, D-104 <br /> Kent,Washington 98032 <br /> Subject: Underground Storage Tank Removal Summary <br /> Southland Store No. 19976 <br /> 1399 North Main Street <br /> Manteca, California <br /> Fluor Daniel GTI Project 02070-0364 <br /> Dear Mr. DeNinno: <br /> Fluor Daniel GTI, Inc. has prepared this letter summarizing underground storage tank (UST) removal <br /> activities conducted at the Southland Store No. 19976 located at 1399 North Main Street in Manteca, <br /> California (Figures 1 and 2,Attachment 1).The scope of work included soil sample collection beneath the <br /> USTs and from the area exposed during additional tank pit excavation (Table 1,Attachment 2), laboratory <br /> analyses of selected soil samples, and preparation of this report.The soil sampling was conducted in <br /> accordance with the Tri-Regional Guidelines and under the direction of Mr. Robert McClellon of the San <br /> Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS). The UST removal,soil excavation, and installation of <br /> new upgraded USTs was conducted by Maness Environmental Services, Inc. <br /> PERMITTING/SITE-SPECIFIC HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN <br /> Fluor Daniel GTI conducted a technical review of all relevant information prior to proceeding with site <br /> assessment work,tank removal, and subsequent excavation. Applications for permits to remove the USTs <br /> were filed by Maness Environmental Services and approved by the SJCPHS. <br /> Following a complete review of site conditions, Fluor Daniel GTI prepared a site-specific Health and Safety <br /> Plan as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Standard "Hazardous <br /> Waste Operations and Emergency Response"guidelines (29 CFR 1910.120).
