Wright <br /> R"'I (C IE p V F Environmental <br /> Services, Inc. <br /> APR 16 2003 mi <br /> EIVVIROI�MENT HEALTH Construction ♦ Eng'neer'ng ♦ Remedwaon <br /> 1 <br /> April 7, 20PPRMIT/SERVICES <br /> Project No 4183 <br /> City of Tracy <br /> 520 Tracy Boulevard <br /> Tracy, California 95376 <br /> Attn Mr Paul Verma <br /> Re: Soil and Groundwater Initial Site Assessment <br /> Former Cage `n Play, 68 1 Vh Street, Tracy, CA <br /> PHS EHD Site Code#503733 <br /> Dear Mr Verma, <br /> Wright Environmental Services, Inc (Wright) has prepared this report on behalf of City of Tracy <br /> (property owner) for the above referenced site This work is in response to letter dated August <br /> 16, 2001 from the San Joaquin Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS <br /> EHD) for additional site assessment This work is being done to address possible contaminants <br /> from a former underground fuel storage tank on the site and to check for presence of MTBE and <br /> related fuel oxygenates <br /> Background <br /> Wright removed two underground storage tanks (one 280-gallon and one 650-gallon) on October <br /> 23, 1993 during the reconstruction of 11'h street The tanks were Iocated under the sidewalk <br /> adjacent to Eleventh Street Soil samples collected at that time showed 590 parts per million <br /> (ppm) Total Petroleum hydrocarbons as Gasoline (TPHG) and 28,000 ppm of an unknown <br /> hydrocarbon Low levels of Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Xylenes were also observed The <br /> sample collected under the 650-gallon tank also showed 1 ppm Perchloroethylene (PCE) <br /> Approximately 125 cubic yards of contaminated soil was excavated and properly disp sed of-` <br /> site, and the sidewalk was repaved and to facilitate safe work by lane closure of 11 rh street <br /> Field Methods <br /> Ex loratory Bon= <br /> Six exploratory bonngs were drilled at the locations shown on Figure 1 Drilling permits were <br /> secured from PHS EHD, and a utility clearance was performed prior to doing the fieldwork The <br /> boreholes were drilled with GeoProbe truck mounted drilling equipment Boring locations were <br /> • adjusted in the field due the proximity of street subsurface utilities <br /> I <br /> 67 E 10th Street • Tracy,CA 95376 <br /> 209 833 0758 • Fax 209 832 5152 Page i of 7 <br /> wnght@tnreach com Lic #651501 A-B HaWa, <br /> webs', h,tP//home inreach comhvr'gh, ~� <br />
