12 December 2005
AGE -NC Project No 03-1055
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected from the site, AGE concludes
• Three new ground water monitoring wells, MW -8 through MW -10, were installed to 20 feet
bsg, developed, surveyed and sampled Each well was screened from 5 to 20 feet bsg
• TPH-g was detected in the ground water sample collected from well MW -8 at a
concentration of 1,300 µg11
• Benzene, toluene, and total xylenes were detected in the ground water sample collected from
MW -8 at concentrations of 24 pg/l, 7 4 µg/1, 22 µg/l, and 43 6 µg/1, respectively '
• Ground water flow was inferred to be generally flowing towards the north under an average
hydraulic gradient of approximately 0 0055 ft/ft
XI9LrLu i 1 !! 1. lIJ►F.a
. Based on the findings of the environmental activities recounted in this report, AGE recommends the
continuation of the quarterly monitoring program, the next monitoring event should be performed
in December 2005
•
With the addition of three monitoring wells, MW -8 through MW -10, lateral extent of the
contamination appears to be sufficiently characterized in all directions with the exception of west
Well MW -8, the most westerly located of the six wells, was the only well impacted this quarter If
concentrations of TPH-g and BTEX in well MW -8 decrease or are static through the next few
quarters of monitoring, then the site should be considered for closure
G.O. LINIITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluation of the geologic/hydrogeologic
conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from a limited number of
available data points (soil and ground water samples) and subsurface conditions may vary away from
these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
interpretations, opinions, and recommendations contained in this report
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc
