• 03 November 2003 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 03-1055 <br /> Page 6 of 6 <br /> material The exposed ends of the sample sleeve will be covered with Teflon sheets, capped and <br /> sealed with tape <br /> Soil samples will be collected from soil stockpiles by digging approximately one foot into the soil <br /> stockpile Soil samples will be collected by hand sampling methods using a stainless steel or carbon <br /> steel trowel, by pressing a metric soil sampling hammer and one 6-inch long by 2-inch diameter <br /> brass sleeve into the soil stockpile <br /> Following sample collection., each sample sleeve will be labeled with the boring location, depth, <br /> time,date and sampler's initials Appropriately sealed and labeled samples will be placed in a chilled <br /> container under ice and transported under chain-of-custody procedure to a DHS-certified laboratory <br /> 43 EXCAVATION BACKFILLING PROCEDURES <br /> The excavation will be backfilled with clean fill sand and/or pea gravel mixtures The excavation <br /> will be backfilled and compacted in five-foot lifts <br /> 4 4 EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION <br /> All sampling tools used for sample collection will be thoroughly washed with a solution of Alconox <br /> and rinsed with clean water prior to each sampling location <br /> 45 REPORT PREPARATION <br /> Upon completion of field work and receipt of final laboratory analysis, a report will be prepared <br /> presenting the findings of the investigation The report will include a description of the work <br /> performed and the results of the sampling and analysis, the laboratory reports for ground water <br /> analyses,testing methods,laboratory quality assurance/quality control(QA/QC)reports,and sample <br /> chain of custody documentation will be included in an appendix In addition, conclusions and <br /> applicable recommendations will be included in the report The report will be in a format acceptable <br /> to the EHD and the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB), and will <br /> be reviewed and signed by a California Registered Geologist <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
