0 <br /> 11 July 2003 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 03-1055 <br /> Page 4 of 7 <br /> Prior to mobilization, the area of excavation will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained <br /> through Underground Service Alert <br /> 3 2 SOIL SAMPLE COLLE TION AND ANALYSTS <br /> AGE proposes to advance Ce robe borings using direct push technology in the area of the parking <br /> lane that boarders the western portion of the property on Adams Street The boring locations are 20 <br /> feet west of MW-2, 40 feet west of MW-2, and 30 feet north from the south western corner of the <br /> property All of the borings will be advanced to ground water,the proposed probe boring locations <br />�G may be modified due to field observations As each boring is advanced, soil samples will be Z <br /> collected continuously or at 5-foot intervals beginning at 5 feet bsg and extending to the tot 1 depth O <br /> of the probe boring <br /> The proposed probe boring locations are illustrated in Figure 3 Field procedures for advancement M <br /> of probe borings and collection of soil samples are presented in Sections 4 1 and 4 2 <br /> Selected soil samples from each probe boring will be submitted for laboratory analysis The selected <br /> soil samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services(DHS)-certified <br /> laboratory for one or more the following constituents <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA <br /> Method 8015M, and <br /> • Benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, xylenes (BTEX) and methyl-tertiary butyl ether(MTBE) <br /> in accordance with EPA Method 8,kCT2.&0 <br /> Laboratory reports for soil analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control <br /> (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with <br /> findings and recommendations <br /> 3 3 GRAB GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS <br /> Grab ground water samples will be collected from each boring during the boring process using a <br /> Geoprobe water sampling assembly Samples will be collected into 40-m1 volatile organic analysis <br /> (VOA) vials with 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative as appropriate for the <br /> required analyses, ground water sample collection procedures are presented in Section 4 1 <br /> . Ground water samples will be analyzed by a DHS-certified laboratory for <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
