i <br />' 29 January 2001 <br /> AGE-NC Protect No 00-0725 <br />' Page 8of11 <br />' 42 ANALYTICAL RESULTS FOR SOIL SAMPLES <br /> A total of five excavation, two stockpile composite and seven depth-discrete soil samples were <br /> analyzed for TPH-g, BTEX and nine fuel additives by EPA Method 8015 Modified, 8020 and 8260 <br /> Modified, respectively <br /> • The highest concentration of TPH-g was detected in soil near the north wall of the excavation <br /> (sample NW-13') Low concentration of TPH-g was also detected In the soil sample collected <br /> from the south wall of the excavation TPH-g was detected in the composite stockpile soil <br />' samples at concentration of 200 milligram per kilogram (mg/kg) and 260 mg/kg <br /> • TPH-g was detected In four soil samples collected from the pilot soil borings advanced for <br /> the monitoring well installations TPH-g was detected at concentrations as high as 2,300 <br />' mg/kg encountered in sample MW2-15 collected at the bottom of the well boring This well <br /> pilot boring was established at the western edge of the excavation <br />' • BTEX were detected at concentrations as high as 4 0 mg/kg from the excavation wall <br /> samples BTEX compounds were also detected in the stockpiled soil from the excavation as <br /> • high as 0 31 mg/kg BTEX compounds were detected at concentrations as high as 35 mg/kg <br />' from the well boring samples The greatest concentration of benzene was detected In the <br /> deepest soil sample collected from within the soil boring for well MW-2 at 6 8 mg/kg <br />' • Fuel additives were not detected in the soil samples analyzed <br /> Analytical results of soil samples are summarized on Table 1 and Table 2 The laboratory reports <br /> (MAI Laboratory I D No 51177-51183 and 54767-54773), quality assurance and quality control <br /> (QA-QC) report and chain-of-custody forms are included in Appendix E <br /> 43 MASS CALCULATIONS <br />' Based on the hydrocarbon concentration of TPH-g in excavated stockpile soil samples and highest <br /> concentration of TPH-g In soil at the base of the c%cavatlon, an estimated 13 gallons or 64 kilograms <br /> (kg) of gasoline were removed from the site during both the UST removal and soil excavation <br /> procedures The mass and volume calculations are presented in Appendix F <br />' Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc <br /> 1 <br />
