08 September 2009
AGE -NC Project No. 03-1055
Page 15 of 19
(Appendix K).
Additionally, AGE conducted a search of the CVRWQCB Geotracker web site to review ground
water monitoring wells within 2,000 feet of the site:
• Three ground water monitoring wells associated with the Pacific Bell site (70607799502;
closed LUST site) located at 10 East 12'h Street;
• Nine groundwater monitoring wells associated with the Beacon (Conoco / Kayo I Fast Gas)
site (T0607700028; open LUST site) located at 153 East I I" Street; and
Seven ground water monitoring wells associated with the Tracy High School site
(T0607773226; open LUST site) located at 315 11" Street.
6.0. CORRECTIVE ACTION (SOIL EXCAVATIONS)
Octnher 2000
Hydrocarbon -impacted soil was removed with an excavator outfitted with a 2.45 cubic -yard bucket.
Soil was excavated from the northern most dispenser near soil probe boring B3. Soil was stockpiled
immediately on the eastern edge of the site. Excavated soil was field screened for the presence of
volatile organic compounds using an OVM. Ground water was present within the limits excavation
at a depth of 15 feet bsg. Saturated soil was excavated from below the water table and stockpiled on
site within a soil containment berm. The extent of the soil excavation and sampling locations are
depicted in Figure 2.
The excavation was backfilled and compacted with approximately 60 cubic yards of pea gravel to
the upper portion of the water table and clean fill sand was then roll compacted with a sheep's foot
wheel into the excavation to the surface grade. On 09 November 2000, approximately 236.5 metric
tons of excavated soil was transported from the site and disposed at Forward Landfill in Manteca,
California.
A total of five excavation and two stockpile composite soil samples were analyzed. The highest
concentration of TPH-g were reported in soil near the north wall of the excavation (sample NW -13').
Low concentrations of TPH-g were also reported in the soil sample collected from the south wall of
the excavation. TPH-g were reported in the composite stockpile soil samples at concentrations of
200 mg/kg and 260 mg/kg. BTEX compounds were reported at concentrations as high as 4.0 mg/kg
from the excavation wall samples and in the stockpiled soil from the excavation as high as
0.31 mg/kg.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
