Ms.Tammy Hodge CAMBRIA
November 1, 1996
Impacts from Adjacent Releases
No off-site sources have been identified.A Vista Environmental Information Database identified UST release
sites within a'/z-mile radius(Attachment F). This report does not indicate any up gradient releases within 500
ft of the Chevron site. Also, the on site ground water analytic data does not suggest any impacts from off site
sources.
Area Well Survey
None of the available files contain information regarding wells within a half a mile radius of the site.
REMEDIAL ACTIONS CONDUCTED
Source Area Removal
Tank and Piping Removal: The waste oil tank was removed in 1992 and the gasoline storage tanks were
removed in 1993,eliminating them as potential hydrocarbon sources.
Soil Excavation and Disposal: An additional 1.5 ft of soil was over-excavated below the 10 ft original
excavation depth during the waste oil tank removal. No further soil was excavated since ground water was
encountered at 12 ft depth. About 40 cubic yards of soil generated during the waste oil tank removal was
characterized and disposed at the Forward Landfill in Stockton, California. The gasoline tank pit was also
over-excavated an additional 1.5 ft to a total depth of 11.5 ft. Soil was also excavated horizontally beneath
the sidewalks at the northern and southern ends of the gasoline tank pit near Adams Street. About 684 cubic
yards of soil removed from underneath and around these tanks were disposed at BFI landfill in Livermore,
California.
Additional Remedial Actions
No engineered remediation has occurred at this site. However, since the bulk of the hydrocarbon-bearing soil
has been excavated and hydrocarbon concentrations in ground water are low and stable, active remediation
is not necessary.
6
