Ms Tammy Hodge CAMB RIA
November 1, 1995
Ground Water Depth Ground water at the site has ranged from about 8 to 12 ft deep More than four years
of ground water data indicates only slight fluctuation in the depth to water
Hydrocarbon Plume Is Stable or Decreasing As discussed previously, the hydrocarbon plume is defined
and decreasing Hydrocarbons are currently detected in only one well, MW-1 at low, stable concentrations
No hydrocarbons have ever been detected in the off site down gradient morutonng wells MW-4 and MW-5
Drinking Water Wells or Other Sensitive Receptors Although no information is available on the presence
or construction of area wells, shallow ground water in the Tracy area is not potable due to it's high salinity and
dissolved solids content Therefore, it is very unlikely that there are any shallow wells in the area
Preferential Pathways. No significant lithologic preferential flow pathways have been identified at the site ;
Since ground water averages about 8 to 10 ft deep, it is unlikely that the nearby shallow sewers could act as
preferential pathways
The Site Presents No Significant Risk to Human Health Since there are no significant exposure pathways,
the site presents no apparent risk to human health
The Site Presents No Significant Risk to the Environment There are no surface water bodies near the site,
and since only low levels of hydrocarbons have been detected at the site, there is no risk or threat to the
beneficial uses of regional ground water
MONITORING SCHEDULE
Based on these characteristics, this is a low-risk ground water site and is a candidate for closure We
recommend case closure Until case closure is approved, we recommend the following ground water
monitoring schedule '
8
