BORDER ZONE PROPERTY ACT SITES <br /> (DEED RESTRICTIONS) <br /> The information provided in this report is updated to February 1, 1992 <br /> 1n accordance with Assembly Bill 816, and the Hazardous Waste Property/Border Zane ' <br /> Property Law (Health & Safety Code 25220), the CAL-EPA, Department of Toxic Substances <br /> Control (DTSC) is authorized to enter into voluntary deed restriction agreements with owners <br /> of property who propose building residences, schools, hopitals or day care centers on property <br /> that is "on or within 2,000 feet of a significant disposal of hazardous waste" Restrictions may <br />' include "activities on, over, or under the land, including, but not limited to, a prohibition <br /> DTSCt building, filling, grading, excavating, or mining" without the written permission of the <br /> i <br />' This bill requires the DTSC to "notify the planning and building department of each city, <br /> county, or regional council of governments when a land use restriction has been recorded, and <br /> would require the planning and building dept to take specified action upon receiving the <br />' notification, therby imposing a state-mandated local program" The DTSC has compiled a hst <br /> of properties subject to deed restrictions which is used to notify various building and planning <br /> departments in local Jurisdictions <br /> ( There have been no Hazardous Waste Property/Border Zone Property designations since the <br /> law's inception } <br /> MAP <br /> ID SITE <br /> NO.
