Ruvalcaba, Cesar
From: Ruvalcaba, Cesar
Sent: Thursday, August 8, 2019 3:36 PM
To: 'EANDECOMPANYRINDGE@GMAIL.COM'
Subject: San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department - Hazardous Waste Hazardous
Materials Inspection.
Attachments: Contingency Plan Template.pdf, Hazardous Waste Labeling - Containers.pdf, site map
template.pdf; site map guidelines.pdf, sample site map.pdf
Hello
I will be conducting a Hazardous Materials and Hazardous Waste inspection for the farm located at 9000 Rindge Tract in
Stockton on 08/19/19 at 9:00am. If there are other facilities that you may manage or own, I can schedule something for
them as well.
The Hazardous waste inspection will consist of a verification of the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS)
information. There is a requirement to report hazardous materials which are stored in a combined total of 55 gallons or
more for liquids (gasoline, diesel, new oil, used oil fertilizers pesticides, etc.), 500 lbs. or more for solids (fertilizers,
pesticides etc.) or 200 cubic feet or more of gases (oxygen, acetylene, argon, nitrogen, etc.)There should also be a
facility map. Guidance for the facility map is attached and can also be found here in the Hazardous Materials Business
Plan Program link. The requirement for a contingency plan also applies and is attached. All these documents will need to
be downloaded into CERS. CERS can be accessed here. I will have my computer with me, and as long as I have a cellular
connection, I can help with this.
The Hazardous waste inspection will consist of an inspection of hazardous waste containers (used oil, used oil filters,
etc.) and labeling. I have attached the labeling requirements, if there are used oil filters that are drained, there are
different labeling requirements that apply to them. I will also need to see three years of disposal records for the used oil
and filters. This would be receipts from the company that picks up the oil or from where it is taken to. The EPA
hazardous waste ID could not be located for the facility, one may need to be obtained. Instructions for acquiring one can
be found here.
FREE classes presented by NES Inc. are available to all San Joaquin County Hazardous Waste, Underground Storage Tank,
and Aboveground Petroleum Storage Facility Business Owners and Operators. List and schedule of classes can be found
here.
Thank you,
Cesar Ruvalcaba
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
Environmental Health Specialist
1868 East Hazelton Ave
Stockton, CA 95205
9 (209) 953-6213 1 _.
