In March 2001,the product piping were removed and
replaced. In March 2005,the UST system,consisting of two USTs,four dispensers,and associated product piping were
removed and replaced. During the removal of the UST systems approximately 1,300 tons of contaminated soil were excavated
and removed from the Site. The groundwater plume is approximately 250 feet in length and extends off-site towards the
northeast. The contaminants have decreased significantly due to the cleanup activities performed by Shell,as well as natural
attenuation processes that continue to break down the chemicals in soil and groundwater. It is estimated that approximately
3.5 pounds of gasoline constituents remain in soil and approximately 1.5 pounds of gasoline constituents remain in
groundwater beneath the Site.
CRA has reviewed and evaluated groundwater monitoring data forthis site and has concluded there is no longer a significant
threat to human health or the environment.
_ After receipt of notification that_a11_case closu.r_e-a.ctiviti.es-bave_been-completed,the-SJCEHD-intd,,AG-issue-a-No-F-u#-her -
Action Required letter for the subject Site,providing that no compelling reason to keep the site active arises during the public
comment participation period. {
WHERE TO GET MORE INFORMATION
Site information can be obtained from the GeoTracker website at http://geotracker.waterboards.ca.gov/.
