Our response is
presented below.
RESPONSE TO COMMENTS
Additional information requested by SJCEHD staff is provided below.
Well Construction Details
Soil boring MW-8 will be drilled using dual cased air rotary-or rotosonic equipment or hollow-stem
auger (HSA) equipment with 'conducto`r casing and will be converted to a deeper zone groundwater
moni-toring well. Soil borings MW-9 and 'MW-10 will be drilled using HSA equipment and will be
converted to shallow zone groundwater monitoring wells. The wells will be constructed using 4 inch
diameter PVC casing. Boring and conductor casing diameters will be determined by the drilling
company in accordance with regulatory and industry standards. It is anticipated that the auger diameter.
for soil.borings MW-9 and MW-10 will be 10 inch. The drilling method for MW-8 will be determined
based on the cosvestimate and recommendation obtained from.the selected drilling company. If HSA
drilling equipment is used, the well will likely be-constructed using a 12 inch diameter conductor casing
and 16 inch diameter augers will be used to drill the boring for the conductor casing. The boring will
then be completed using 8 or 10 inch diameter augers. If air rotary or rotosonic drilling equipment is
used, based on our experience, the drilling equipment diameter will be 10 inch. CRA will insure that the
drillers use appropriate sized equipment in accordance with regulatory and industry standards.
Equal
Employment
Opportunity Employer
Worldwide_.Engineering,Environmental,Construction,and IT Services
