(Cambria) prepared this work plan on behalf of Equilon <br /> Enterprises LLC dba Shell Oil Products US (Shell) to propose over-excavation activities following <br /> the removal of the station's underground storage tanks (USTs), dispensers, and product piping. <br /> The proposed scope of work presented in this document complies with San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) and Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> guidelines. <br /> Site Location and Description <br /> The subject property is a Shell-branded service station located at 4315 Waterloo Road in a <br /> commercial area of Stockton, California (Figure 1). It is presently in escrow as part of a pending <br /> sale. Prior to its removal during March 2005, the station layout included two double-walled <br /> fiberglass USTs, two dispenser islands, a service station building, and a car wash(Figure 2). <br /> Previous Investigations <br /> 1994 UST Removal: During December 1994, four single-walled steel USTs (two 5,000-gallon, <br /> one 7,000-gallon, and one 8,000-gallon) and associated product piping were removed. Petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples collected from the former UST excavation. Over- <br /> excavation was performed and additional soil samples were collected. One soil sample collected <br /> Cambria from the excavation sidewall at 14 feet below grade (fbg) contained 380 parts per million (ppm) <br /> Environmental total purgeable petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg). Two soil samples collected at depths <br /> Technology,Inc. of 4.5 and 6 fbg from the dispenser island areas contained 1,600 and 1,700 ppm TPHg.
