C A M B R I A Mr Jeffrey Wong February 15, 2006 INVESTIGATION SUMMARY Cambria oversaw the advancement of soil borings SB-11 through SB-16 and installation of groundwater monitoring wells MW-5 through MW-7 at the locations shown on Figure 2 Cambria presents our standard field procedures for soil borings and monitoring well installation in Attachment A and summarizes the details of this subsurface investigation below Cambria Personnel Present Cambria senior staff scientist Stewart Dahe directed the field activities, working under the supervision of California Professional Geologist Aubrey Cool Permit Cambria obtained monitoring well installation permit (Permit SR #45118) from the SJCEHD (Attachment B) Drilling Company Gregg Drilling and Testing, Inc of Martinez, California (Gregg) (C57 License No 485165) Drilling Dates December 12 through December 16, 2005 Drilling Method 8-inch hollow-stem augers were used for soil borings and 10- inch hollow-stem augers were used for well borings Number of Borings and Wells Nine soil borings (SB-11 through SB-16 and MW-5, MW-6, and MW-7) were drilled and three were converted into groundwater monitoring wells (MW-5, MW-6, and MW-7) Cambria describes the soil boring and well construction specifications in Table I and shows the soil boring and well locations on Figure 2 Boring Depths Soil borings SB-11, SB-12, and SB-13 were advanced to 61 fbg Soil borings SB-14, SB-15, and SB-16 were advanced to 21 fbg Well borings MW-5 and MW-6 were advanced to 75 fbg, and well boring MW-7 was advanced to 95 fbg Groundwater Depths Cambria observed groundwater initially in well borings MW-5, MW-6, and MW-7 at depths between 66 and 67 fbg during drilling activities Groundwater was not encountered in borings SB-11 through SB-16 Blaine Tech Services, Inc (Blaine) of San Jose, California measured groundwater in wells MW-5 . through MW-7 at depths ranging from 66 19 fbg to 66 32 on 4
