June 9, 2005 <br /> ANTICIPATED SECOND QUARTER 2005 ACTIVITIES <br /> Groundwater Monitoring Blaine will gauge and sample all site wells according to the existing <br /> sampling schedule, and tabulate the data Cambria will prepare a groundwater monitoring report <br /> As requested in SJCEHD's March 29, 2005 letter, Shell will analyze groundwater samples from <br /> well MW-4 quarterly for tertiary butyl alcohol, starting with the second quarter sampling event <br /> Over-Excavation Following removal of the USTs, dispensers, and piping, Cambna conducted <br /> over-excavation and soil sampling in some of the dispenser and piping areas on <br /> April 1 and 4, 2005 We will submit a report discussing the equipment removal and over- <br /> excavation activities under separate cover during June 2005 <br /> Site Investigation SJCEHD's March 29, 2005 letter requested that the field work proposed in the <br /> work plan discussed above be implemented by May 16, 2005 As discussed with SJCEHD staff <br /> during an April 26, 2005 telephone conversation, Cambria will review the data from the UST, <br /> dispenser, and piping removals and over-excavation to evaluate whether additional soil borings <br /> are warranted to assess the lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbons and fuel oxygenates in the <br /> vicinity of the dispenser islands Cambria will include recommendations regarding additional <br /> iinvestigation (and, if needed, a work plan) with the UST removal and over-excavation report, <br /> which will be submitted to SJCEHD during June 2005 As SJCEHD approved verbally on <br /> April 26, 2005, Cambria will implement the field work proposed in our September 17, 2004 Site <br /> Investigation Work Playa concurrent with the additional soil borings (if they are warranted) <br /> 2 <br />
