Cambna geologist Geno Man mini directed the field activities,
working under the supervision of California Registered
Geologist Joe Neely
Permits Well permits numbered 0027644 and 0027645 were obtained
from SJCPHS/EHD (Appendix A)
Drilling Companies Gregg Drilling and Testing, Inc and Gregg InSitu, Inc (Gregg)
of Martinez, California (C57 License Nos 485165 and 656407)
Drilling Dates November 5 and 7 through 9, 2001
. Drilling Method Cone penetration testing (CPT) and ten-inch hollow-stem augers
(HSA)
Soil Sampling Methods The CPT boring was logged continuously using CPT electronic
logging equipment Soil samples were collected from the CPT
boring at approximate 10-foot intervals The electronic CPT
logs are presented in Gregg's report (Appendix B) The HSA
borings were logged using the Unified Soil Classification
System and Munsell Soil Color Charts Soil samples were
collected at five-foot intervals in these borings for soil
description, potential chemical analysis, and headspace analysis
Soil samples from the HSA borings were screened for the
presence of organic vapors using a photo-ionization detector
(PID) The PID readings are recorded on the boring logs
(Appendix C)
Groundwater Sampling Groundwater samples were collected from boring CPT-1 using
Hydropunch equipment at depths of 71, 83, and 89 fbg
Number of Borings One CPT boring (CPT-1) and three HSA borings (MW-2
through MW4) The three HSA bonngs were converted into
1359 3
