ri
h
1
i
0
Executive Summary
This site is a former EXXON service station. EXXON removed the dispensers and all fluids from
1 the piping and the UST's when they vacated the property in July 1998.
Wickland Properties plans to remove the three 10,000-gallon underground storage tanks (USTs)
and associated dispensing and vent piping in later part of February, 1999. It is anticipated that no
contaminated soil will be discovered. If contaminated soil is discovered, this soil will be
removed, sampled for disposal and covered with plastic linear. The soil will then be removed from
the site within 3'.to 4 weeks to an acceptable landfill for disposal.
!I
The excavations will be backfilled to surface shortly after removal of the USTs, associated piping
and removal of!any contaminated soil.
The site currently is secured from the general public with a six-foot high security fence. No
unauthorized persons will be allowed to enter the site during tank removal and excavating and until
i the excavations'!:have been backfilled. During excavation and removal of the USTs, associated
piping and contaminated soils, slight petroleum odor and dust may be generated. The site will be
screened with gas detectors and visually for dust to insure that the general public is not exposed. If
dust and odors become a nuisance, the excavation procedures will be slowed and a water mist may
{ be used for condol.
I
i
1
i
h
II
