R603 UPDATE-13 2/15/93
hydrocarbons removed from the subsurface, see Tables 2, 3 and 5
and Appendix A-Air Monitoring Report .
CONDENSATE REMOVAL AND WELL PURGING BY LTT
Condensation from vapor extraction is collected in moisture drop
out tanks constructed of 12" PVC pipe, before the manifold, to
prevent moisture build up on the vacuum pump filter. All fluids
removed from the condensation traps are placed in the 1000 gallon
"ConVault'' . As of December 1, 1992 a total of 22 5 gallons of
product and 162 gallons of water have been removed from the
condensation traps; 0 06 gallons product and 30 gallons water
from EX-4, 9 18 gallons product and 66 93 gallons water from MW-
10 , and 13 . 23 gallons product and 65 09 gallons water from MW2/3 .
No fluids have collected in the MW-1 condensation trap . The
"ConVault" was connected to the vapor recovery manifold on
October 1, 1992 Table 5 represents the field notes from LTT
condensate removal and well purging (MW2 and MW3 condensate into
the same trap and the condensate removal is represented with MW2
data) As of January 28, 1993 LTT has removed the following from
the monitor wells and condensate traps in gallons :
ground condensate total water product
water water
MWl 165 0 165 0
MW2 47 194 7 241 . 7 9 . 2
MW3 165 W/MW2 W/MW2 W/MW2
MW8 135 0 135 0
MW10 43 178 9 221 9 14 6
EX 0 181 . 95 181 . 95 0
Total removal from the individual wells, MW1 165 gallons of
ground water, MW2 306 8 gallons of ground water and condensate
water and 22 4 gallons of product, MW3 165 gallons of ground
water, MW8 135 gallons of ground water, MW10 288 8 gallons of
ground water and condensate water and 23 . 8 gallons of product and
EX 212 gallons of condensate water and 0 . 06 gallons of product .
Total fluids removed as of January 28 , 1993 1272 gallons of
ground water and 46 26 gallons of product
Presently there is no floating product on the stored water
surface within the "ConVault" . Observations made on October 8,
1992, showed that the floating product had been removed by the
Vacuum pia(_e 1 (into 'lle ConVaultA water ScLlTlple was tllcii
obtained and analyzed through WEGE' s non certified laboratory and
showed the stored water had 30 5 Mg/L gasoline range hydrocarbons
(TFH) , 0 994 Mg/L benzene, 9 679 Mg/L toluene, and 23 . 96 Mg/L
xylenes .
A water sample was obtained of the "Convault" water on October
13 , 1992 , and again analyzed by WEGE, non certified. The water
was dramatically reduced in hydrocarbons and showed the following
concentrations TFH 7 78 Mg/L, benzene 0 . 125 Mg/L, toluene 2 953
PAGE 8
