I I k
R603 UPDATE-15 4/8/93
y
1.0 INTRODUCTION
';This update, STATUS UPDATE #15, represents data collected at the
' site from February 18, through March 18, 1993 . During this time,.
la thermal oxidation unit was operating and vapor extraction 'for
! soil and ground water remediation was taking place. Lawrence
Tank Testing (LTT) was also performing twice a week purging of
selected wells for ground water removal and treatment .
iThe permit to dump treated ground water to the sewer was received
i, and presently we are batch dumping the treated water from the
"ConVault" monthly. This water is collected from the vapor
4recovery condensate . dropouts and the twice weekly purging of ti
monitor wells MW1, MW2, MW3 , MW8 and MW10 by Lawrence Tank
Testing (LTT) pumping service . We are presently evaluating the
meed for a continuous pump and treat system. If the evaluation `4
F Ilindicates continuous pumping of ground water is needed, pumping
) will occur from monitor wells MW1 and MW3 .
! 1 . 1 LOCATION
Y :I
Y
„ The station is located at 6425 Pacific Avenue at the intersection F
i jof Douglas Road, in San Joaquin County, Stockton, California.
The site lies in Section 21; T2N; R6E; MDB&M at approximately 12
# Meet above mean sea level. (MSL) (see Figures 1, 2, ' 3) The ,
parcel is # 31 and can be located in Assessor' s Book 97 on page
41 (97- 041-31) . On October 2, 1992, a licensed surveyor with
Nolte & Assoc . surveyed all monitoring well locations and top of
I? casing elevations to a known datum, City of Stockton Bench Mark
lNumber 12, elevation 11 . 74' above mean sea level .
rj f1 .2 PREVIOUS REPORT UPDATE STATUS REPORT 14 JANUARY -
FEBRUARY 1993 UPDATE STATUS REPORT2 .
i The following is the SUMMARY of the previously submitted UPDATE }
STATUS REPORT #14 : k
5 .0 SUMMARY
Presently there is no floating product on the stored water
surface within the "ConVault" . Observations made on October 8,
1992, showed that the floating product had been removed by the
vacuum placed onto the "ConVault" . A water sample was then
obtained and analyzed through WEGE"' s non certified laboratory and
showed the stored water had 30 . 5 Mg/L gasoline range hydrocarbons
(TFH) , 0 . 994 Mg/L benzene, 9 . 679 Mg/L toluene, and 23 . 96 Mg/L !
zi
xylenes . y
_# IS A water sample was obtained of the "Convault" water on October
13 , 1992, and again analyzed by WEGE, non certified. "' The water
i was dramatically reduced in hydrocarbons and showed the following €
concentrations : TFH 7 . 78 Mg/L, benzene 0 . 125 Mg/L, toluene - 2 . 953
I Mg/L and xylenes 7 . 362 Mg/L.
On January 21, 1993, a sample of the water being treated by air
±' PAGE 1
i
