SUMMARY Upon iemoval and sanipling of the fiberglass product lines and old newly discovered, abandoned steel product lines and contaminated soils were discovered in the southeinmost and south middle pump island dispenser areas These areas were ovei-excavated, removing an estimated 70 cubic yards of soil Under the diiectioin of San Joaquin County Health UST Oversight Program samples weir obtained to document the amount of contaminated soil that was left in place Laboratory results indicated that minor icsidual gasoline range hydiocarbon contaminated soils remain in the Pit 1 area but should not pose a threat to the groundwater RECOMMENDATION With cornpletion of ovei-etcavation of the product dispensing areas and vapor recovery this site has bten iemediated and no longer poses a threat to the groundwatet It is Western Geo-Engineers conclusion and tecommendatlon that this site should be evaluated for closure with no further actions necessary, see the following iepoits previously submitted for closure tevlew for further details on closure `REQUEST FOR CLOSURE AT FORMER REGAL STATION 603 prepared by Blakely Envitoninental Investigations, inc , 1~ebivary 5, 1999 • "REQUEST FOR CLOSURE REVIEW #3 WITH UPDATE STATUS REPORT #54, prepared by Western Geo-Engineers, Decennbei 17, 1998 5 R-603 over-ex 4-2000
