(RESNA)to summarize the first quarter
1994 groundwater monitoring and sampling activities at the above referenced site.
On January 24, 1994, RESNA personnel monitored groundwater depths and collected
groundwater samples from each monitoring well on site (T-1, T-2, and T-3). Water level
measurements were collected from each monitoring well using a Solinst Water Level Meter
(Model 101). The depth to groundwater beneath the site ranged from 7.98 to 8.42 feet below
grade. Groundwater elevations across the site increased an average of 0.47 feet since October t/
1993. Field monitoring data are presented in Attachment 1. A groundwater gradient map was
created using data collected on January 24, 1994 (Plate 1). According to this information, the
gradient flows to the north at 0.003 feet/foot, or approximately 16 feet/mile. A summary of
groundwater monitoring data is presented in Table 1.
Prior to sampling, approximately 30 gallons of water was purged from each well. Field purge
logs are included in Attachment 1. The samples were collected using dedicated, disposable
bailers. The samples were submitted to state-certified Sequoia Analytical Laboratory in
Redwood City, California and analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes(BTEX)and
total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) using EPA methods 8020 and modified 8015,
respectively. All purged water was contained in DOT approved drums and left on site pending
disposal. Laboratory analyses indicate that no detectable concentrations of petroleum
150056/1 QR-1994.FNL
