HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN For 455 11TH ST TRACY,CALIFORNIA <br /> Terraphase Engineering Inc. <br /> 1404 Franklin St., Suite 600, Oakland, CA 94612 <br /> Project Number 0243.001 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This Health and Safety Plan (HASP) was developed for the supplemental soil and soil gas sampling at the <br /> property located at 455 11th St Moffat Boulevard in Manteca California (the Site).This HASP was <br /> prepared by Terraphase Engineering Inc. (Terraphase)for the field investigation activities to be <br /> conducted on behalf of the confidential client. <br /> This document is a summary of the HASP.The full HASP will be available on site during activities. <br /> 1.1 Field Work Activities <br /> Field work activities that will occur at the Site include the advancement of soil borings using a hand <br /> auger and direct push drill rig for the collection of soil and grab groundwater samples,and installation of <br /> temporary soil gas wells. Groundwater, soil, and soil gas samples will be collected during the <br /> investigation activities at the Site. <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The Site is composed of one parcel, APN 23337008,455 11th St.The Subject Property is located in <br /> Tracy,California, and is composed land developed with an auto repair shop and junkyard.The Site <br /> consists of paved asphalt drives .The Subject Property is approximately half a block west of N <br /> MacArthur Blvd.The Subject Property is bordered to the north by an asphalt parking lot,followed by <br /> structural development associated with the High School. <br /> 2.0 HAZARDS <br /> Hazards that could be encountered include chemical hazards, environmental hazards, biological hazards, <br /> and/or physical hazards.The sub-categories of these four types of hazards are explained in further detail <br /> below. <br /> 2.1 Chemical Hazards <br /> Chemical hazards may be encountered during the field activities to be conducted at the Site.These <br /> hazards may be encountered through inhalation, absorption, or ingestion.The primary contaminants of <br /> concern are heavy metals including lead and arsenic,OCPs, (TPHg), diesel (TPHd), and motor oil <br /> (TPHmo), and VOCs. During the collection of the groundwater,soil-gas samples, and soil samples, risk of <br /> exposure through absorption and ingestion is minimal due to proper personal hygiene and use of <br /> personal protective equipment(PPE). <br /> 2.1.1 Petroleum Hydrocarbons <br /> The primary contaminants of concern are petroleum hydrocarbons (e.g.TPH-d,TPH-mo,TPH-g).
