Eleventh Street
Tracy, CA
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) has reviewed
the "Quarterly Report" dated October 1993, prepared by Geological Audit Services, Inc. for the above
referenced site.
The report describes the re-excavation of the former underground storage tank (UST) area, soil
sampling of the excavation and resultant stockpiled soil, and the installation of monitoring well 4.
Contaminated soil remains in place north, east and west of the excavated area and extends off-site.
Quarterly monitoring of the existing monitoring wells should continue to determine what affect the
removal of the contaminated soil from the former UST area has had in remediating the site
contamination. Further remediation of the soil and groundwater contamination should be based on
this information. Sampling of the monitoring wells should be scheduled as soon as possible.
The tables of the soil and groundwater sample results contained in this report do not reflect that some
samples were diluted for analysis. Therefore, the contamination levels reported do not represent what
actually exists at the site. In future reports, please note when results are from a diluted sample and
include the dilution factor for those results.
The piping from the former underground storage tanks to the dispensers remains in place. This piping
must be removed and the soil beneath the piping sampled to confirm there is no contamination in the
dispenser island area. Please submit a piping removal plan to PHS/EHD by May 15, 1994.
If you have any questions contact Margaret Lagorio, Senior REHS, at (209) 468-3449.
Ernest M.
